I graduated in Software Engineering from the University of Bradford in 2014 and within a few months I was accepted onto an internship programme with Malik House in their digital team (via the University of Bradford). My role at Malik House was initially for a 12 week internship as a Software Development Support Analyst which involved assisting to develop new and existing websites, maintaining databases and a range of other tasks. My degree course had focused on software development and system analysis so I was delighted that the role at Malik House gave me the opportunity to apply the skills I had obtained at university and further develop my skill set.
Following the completion of my internship, I was offered a full time position with the business from March 2015. Since then Malik House has expanded rapidly with the creation of numerous brands which has given me the opportunity to be involved in creating and developing a diverse range of new websites and databases.
I have recently been promoted to deputy team leader for the digital team at Malik House and I am delighted to be working alongside an incredible and dedicated team, working to further develop new brands and come up with new ideas for different projects. I have developed my knowledge and understanding of industry needs and I now really appreciate the importance of developing reliable and high-quality systems for our clients. I am looking forward to the next 12 months!
